My friend – and former boss – Frederick Van runs a great blog. As a professional photographer and marketing director, Frederick offers a “different perspective on photography and technology.” It’s a blog worth bookmarking. And, if you’re in the small camp of consumers still considering the purchase of an iPhone, check out his post “Concessions of an iPhone Zealot” — a very useful review.
Wedding season is in full swing, and I’ve been enjoying working with some great Bride & Groom clients, as well as shooting a bunch of fun portrait sessions and events. Considering how busy I am shooting, editing sessions and working on albums, I thought I’d dedicate the next week or so to featuring a favorite image or two (each day) from recent assignments.
I’ll kick it off with a few faves from an important photo session I recently booked — my daughter!
I had the good fortune of attending Dane Sander’s (and crew) recent Foto Cabina launch party…all I can say is WOW! The party – hosted at Jim and Stephanie Kennedy’s studio – was top notch. And, after seeing the Foto Cabina in action, there’s no doubt this is going to take off!
For the wedding planners/designers and event coordinators that read this blog – check out the Foto Cabina website now…I know you’ll dig it.
I’m lifting a few images from Dane’s blog (with credit to photographer David Tosti). Thanks Dane, Carl, and all involved for bringing us Foto Cabina and a great party.

David Hessemer, along with a handful of photographers that I greatly admire, are doing a 24-hour Blogathon for the “Through Their Eyes” Africa project. They will be travelling to some very impoverished parts of Africa next year teaching children how to take photographs, in the hopes of giving them a skill as well enabling people wordwide to see the world the way they see it. The photographs they take will be formed into a traveling exhibit.
This is a wonderful project that needs funding to make it happen. You can donate and learn more here:
