Seascape Abstract

I’ve been spending a lot of time experimenting with motion - and have become especially interested in applying movement to fine art seascapes. I like the abstract quality that long exposures + camera motion add to the image. This sunset image was created with a long exposure and a steady left-right panning of the tripod. Of the 50 or so photographs captured, this is a leading favorite.

Have a great weekend.

Maternity Photography - Karina and Family

I had the honor of recently photographing our friends Karina + her adorable family (as a family of 3 before baby-makes-4). The night before the shoot they made a run to the hospital (contractions had begun, but turns out they were not quite ready for admittance). So, we worked fast (and gently) the next day and captured a nice collection of images.

Today Karina delivered a healthy and happy baby boy!

We’re so thrilled for you all, and can’t wait to meet the lil’ guy!

Here a just a couple sneak peaks from our Maternity/Familysession:

“Stuff I Dig” Friday - Fine Art TV

I first found FineArtTV via a great segment featuring photographer Kim Weston (I’m continually inspired by Kim’s generous spirit and creativity, and have participated in a handful of his workshops ).

FineArtTV is a combination news magazine and TV channel — dedicated solely to “the world of images and to the artistic field in general.” I particularly enjoy the Gallery of the Day.

Michelle & Chad: Laguna Beach E-Session

One of my favorite things about wedding photography is shooting Engagement sessions. I offer these sessions in all my packages, and really enjoy the creative collaberation that always results from these shoots.

Michelle and Chad are awesome, and I had such a blast on their recent E-session. It was an added bonus to meet their puppy Toby and visit with Michelle’s Mom “on-set.” When we met earlier this year, both Michelle and Chad mentioned that they might be a bit camera shy. Well, quite the contrary! The minute we began shooting they instantly fell into the groove and were naturals in front of the camera. These two exemplify the key to any successful engagement shoot — simply being in love. This is so evident in their images, and I can’t wait for their wedding celebration in August.

Stuff I Dig — cgart.com

Gonna dedicate Friday’s here on the blog to Stuff I Dig.

I recently discovered, and have been inspired by, the “Creative Graphics & Art Design” website. The goal of the online destination is to “curate” quality video content (there are currently over 700 videos published)…I especially dig the cinematography, motion design and musioc video categories.

Click here to check out the site…and, embeded below is a recent favorite.
