It’s often the unexpected, un-planned things in life that bring me the most creative inspiration.
Like this leaf.
I discovered it on an evening walk, and the minute I got home I spent a couple hours photographing it. Yes, it’s true, I took hundreds of pictures of one leaf. Making slight adjustments, adjusting the light by a couple centimeters here and there, studying the textures, fiddling with multiple exposures — this is what I’m finding myself creatively charged by these days.
I’m still working on the image, but would love your opinion. Which do you prefer: black and white or sepia?

Personally I like the Sepia version more than the black and white version. Just base on image impact the sepia stands out more.
Normally I like B&W, but I think in this case the sepia shows off the veins of the leaf better and in general you just see more detail.
I DEFINITELY like the sepia-toned one on the left; it has a color that reminds me of what the leaf might actually be colored like while at the same time keeping a sense of mystery. It also makes the image have a lot more depth to me. Really, a nice image Scott!
I think the sepia is nicer on this one… ‘course I’m not a photographer so my opinion is somewhat uneducated! Glad you found some enjoyment in this. Nice to see your passion extends to every day items!

that’s a hard one…I think I’m drawn to the sepia more…
they are both lovely
I have to agree with the rest here the Sepia wins but it does look kind of cool side by side as a single image.
I also prefer the sepia version, I think it is more compelling but still maintains the B&W charm.
I am going to go with the B&W. I love b&w and Ansel Adams would be proud
While both can hold their own, I, like many of the others, prefer the sepia. Based on what I see on my monitor and the b&w is approaching a texture I see in concrete (not bad, just something I see everyday). The sepia has more character.
