Wedding Sneak Peak - Michelle & Chad

I’ve begin the editing process for the imagery of Michelle and Chad’s beautiful wedding this past Saturday…I can’t wait to post the full wedding (be sure to register here to view all the images once complete). In the meantime, a teaser:

Congratulations Michelle and Chad - it was such a joy photographing your special day!

Viddia — A Great Resource

I’m often asked by my clients for wedding industry referrals – most often for videographers. I’ve worked with many great professionals, and I’m always thrilled to recommend my favorites.

In addition, I’ve just discovered a new wedding planning site that helps couples connect with local wedding vendors in their area — Viddia. I’m in the process of creating a listing for Scott Anderson Photography on Viddia, and am looking forward to partnering with them.

In addition to ratings and reviews of local professionals, Viddia has some innovative applications for such areas as video sharing and local planning guides.

Regarding wedding videography specifically, here’s some worthwhile information from the Viddia crew.

+ Viddia aims to be the best source of videography information on the net, providing a videography guide, listings of over 13,000 wedding videographers and the web’s only video sharing service designed specifically for real wedding videos.

+ Viddia’s sharing tools allow professional videographers to upload ultra-high quality widescreen Flash video so wedding films can be viewed with the quality they deserve.

+ Couples can then use Viddia’s email tools to send out viewing invitations to friends and loved ones that include a snapshot of the video and a link to the viewing page. Additionally, newlyweds can password protect their video to keep their privacy if they so choose.

Amber & Benjamin Wedding — Trump National Golf Club, Rancho Palos Verdes

Amber and Benjamin – Congratulations, and welcome back from your honeymoon! What an amazing wedding. It was such an honor and joy to meet all of your family and friends - especially after hearing you speak so highly of everyone leading up to your big day. Every detail of your ceremony + reception was exquisite, and it was such a thrill to photograph.

I still have a bit of editing to do, but wanted to post a few favorites that have caught my eye. I’ll no doubt be posting more as I sort through the Tea Ceremony and reception images (some very special and fun ones indeed!)

Thank you both so much for your friendship and trust - and for sharing your beautiful day. I can’t wait for you to see all the images - very soon!

(Note to Amber & Benjamin’s family, friends and guests: Register here to view the wedding photos when ready).

* Amber and Benjamin assembled an amazing crew of professionals for their wedding, and it was a privilege to work alongside them. A very special thanks goes to my 2nd photographer for the day, Leo Flores – a gifted photographer with a brilliant eye.

Mother’s Day

Today Gia and I were reminded to:

- Laugh and sweat every day
- Learn from our children - as they are our best teachers
- Live from our hearts (not just our minds)

We started the day in Los Angeles for Gurmukh’s family Kundalini class at the Golden Bridge Yoga and Wellness Center (coordinates: Sunset and Vine). The experience was amazing in so many ways. Most fullfulling was watching Gia and Gurmukh visit after class - and the tears that baby Kai brought to both their eyes (Gia has studied Gurmuck’s work for many years, and practiced Kundalini throughout her pregnancy…so it was really special to be at her studio today).

We then hit Real Food Daily for a post-yoga snack…followed by Korean BBQ (bulgogi + tofu soups) for dinner, and Yogurt Land to top it all off.

I was so pleased when Gia said this was her best Mother’s Day ever (whoa, the bar has been set high).

Here are some snaps and video from the point-and-shoot:

A few favorites, with more to come…

Florist and Event Design Studio - “Embellishmint”

Recently I had the opportunity to join a handful of Southern California’s finest photographers for a shoot organized on behalf of the San Diego Pictage User Group. I’ll soon be posting some favorite images from the shoot…but first I want to showcase the work of an awesome florist: Dawn Stone of Embellishmint Floral and Event Design Studio. The bouquet Embellishmint provided was absolutely stunning! The creativity of the arrangement and amazing attention to detail was unlike any bouquet I’ve seen.

I’m definitely recommending Embellishment to current and prospective brides. Below are a few images of the bouquet. Check-out the Embellishmint website and blog.

Gen & Sagar — The Wedding

This past Friday marked a day I’ll never forget — I’m so grateful to Gen and Sagar for the opportunity to capture and document their joyous union. I feel honored and blessed to have witnessed and been included in the joining of their families and cultures.

Gen and Sagar are the type of couple that are instantaneously likable, and their enthusiasm is contagious. I knew their wedding was going to be remarkable from the moment we met back in April and they briefed me on all the plans – which included Hindu and Western ceremonies. The South Coast Winery and Resort proved to be a gorgeous venue. The views were spectacular - the grounds of the resort offered a plethora of photographic backdrops - and the warm sunset cast an awesome light on the vineyards. It was also great to have my friend Shyla on-hand as a second shooter. We fell into a great rhythm – taking-up complimentary shooting positions and capturing a wide array of decisive moments throughout the day.

I’ve just begun to edit the images, but here are a few that stood out as early favorites. Congratulations Gen and Sagar!
